Fandom Radio, Tuesday, January 22nd
You know, I woke up this morning, and I didn't have hooves, or breasts, or a small child bouncing on my chest. And I know it's a Tuesday and these things seem to favour the weekends, but it's been two full weeks since the new semester started and I haven't so much as had a wrong number hit my telephone.
I'm suspicious.
But that is neither here nor there, I suppose. It's Tuesday, a bit chilly out but otherwise normal, and I have coffee and notes to read, starting with what went on at the School. Jaye wasn't entirely awake yet for Philosophy, where they watchedmeta for Serendipity and then had to do some writing. American Feminism learned about Myrlie Evers-Williams, and then the class stuck around to watch the inauguration. Flight learned about the F-14 Tomcat and then each student got to participate in a dogfight, and now I have Kenny Loggins stuck in my head, thank you for that, Jaina.
In the library, the books weren't doing anything to lessen William's bad day when they started falling to the floor on their own. Apathy Club - they still have Apathy Club? I actually miss that one - met, apathetically, and Petra introduced Pride and explained that she's working on what they'll be doing this semester. Proudly.
And finally for school, Electroclash was folding paper airplanes in her office hours when Sparkle wandered in, thinking that he was in trouble, but mostly it was just one of those random Fandom checkups to make certain he wasn't crying himself to sleep at nights, and something about a badger. Gert came in for some counseling, too, and wasn't terribly impressed by the superhero garb before being fed something or other about how her attitude was holding her back.
... It's probably fortunate that they didn't have a school counselor when I was a student here.
Moving on to the Dorms, where Topher was in the common room on the third floor, watching a Swapped Upon Delivery marathon and yelling at the telly. Jessica had to check to make certain he was aware that it wasn't real, which led into her explaining that, no, it was the real ones that it was okay to get upset about. Really. Emily attempted to guess where the show was headed, and deduced sleeping around and lots of it, but Topher's not even all that interested in kissing. And then Emily and Jessica decided together that they'd far rather watch alien teen dramas. I... would almost watch something like that. Using the Shi'ar or perhaps Skrulls would make it fascinating.
... Yes, I'd watch it.
Finally, we move along to Town, where Cade was building killer droids at Stark Industries. We have a school counselor, Cade. Perhaps you might want to have a chat with her sometime. Jack Priest was stuck on the phone with a Tru Blood salesman at Devil's Nest. Surreal brought Victor with her to work at the Magic Box and answered his questions about the place while dealing with new inventory. At Demon Marcus, Hanna was setting up a shoe display. Alice was being introspective at Wellspring Arms. Allie was reading Shakespeare at the Perk when Alice stopped by and invited her to visit her world for a few days, and Kitty recommended some travel destinations that Allie might want to try as well before talking about things like college.
And... that's all of the notes for today. And still nothing strangely out of place has gone on, so I'm going to pick up my coffee and head back to the Boards before the squirrels try to do something to remedy that. But, before I do, I'll leave you all with this, because if I have to suffer with it, we all do.
Enjoy, Fandom.
